What is a customs-bonded warehouse?

A customs bonded warehouse is the secured area where we are able to store your goods without the payment of duty. The purpose of having a bonded warehouse is to provide supervision on shipments coming into Ireland, as well as for security on goods before the payment of duty and customs taxes.

Where is your bonded warehousing facility located?

We are located just off the M1, only 5 minutes from Dublin Airport and 15 minutes for Dublin Port, making us arguably the most convenient facility in the country.

Unit 2 Swords Business Park,

FAQ

To be eligible for customs warehousing, your goods should have been imported from outside the European. Union (EU) and be liable to customs duties and/or import VAT, or be moving in duty suspension from another member state.

Our facility is live monitored 24 hours a day and is enclosed by a high perimeter fence.

Once a customer notifies CHS that the imported goods are en route to Ireland, RCS deals with all the Customs procedures and related paperwork. This includes liaising with the client’s shipping agent, arranging delivery from the port of entry to Ireland, directly into CHS’s bonded warehouse in Dublin.

We then notify the customer once the goods are recorded and stored at our warehouse. When the customer wishes to issue the goods from bond, CHS makes the necessary arrangements on their behalf, including payment of VAT and duty, as well as arranging onward delivery to a chosen destination if required.

With all the Documents pre-checked and the Customs Duty and VAT arrangements in place, Customs Clearance can be completed (Green Routed) within an hour or two of the arrival of the goods. However, if the goods are called for a document check (Orange Routed) or for a full physical exam (Red Routed) the length of time could stretch to 24/48hours.
